MY TIME
After completing my HND I spent my summers surfing and working in Newquay, this is where I first started making jewellery although it was self taught. I then decided to increase my knowledge and enrolled at Central Lancashire University in Preston. I studied here for three years and successfully completed my Honours course. That was in 2003 since then I have been creating and selling my own jewellery. I attend craft shows and also sell in different galleries around the country, I’m always interested in more openings. I work from home in a converted garden shed. To support myself I have also taken up adult education teaching. I teach at City College Manchester and also for Stockport education at The Dailstone centre in Offerton. Much to my surprise I really enjoy it.
MY WORK
I really enjoy making jewellery that is different yet still commercial. It is hard to keep my prices low because each piece is individually hand made but I feel it is important to make the jewellery this way to keep each piece unique and special. Most of my work involves colour which enables people to choose from a wide selection. I also try to use different materials in my work and do special commissions and individual pieces to the customers requirements.
